Government
Iceland is a Parliamentary Democracy and is run by a president. The current president is named Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson appears to be a good president. He is the first president to hold five terms in Iceland. He has turned Iceland into acountry that relies upon green energy instead of fossil fuels. All of Icelands electric power is provided by geothermal energy and hydropower.
Economic System
Iceland's currency is the Icelandic Krona. One USD is equal to 131.47 Icelandic Kronas.
Education
Iceland has Pre-school education which accept children from 1-6 years of age. After pre-school the kids go to primary and lower-secondary school. Both of these are mandatory and are often viewed as a unit labeled Compulsory School. The age range for Compulsory School is 6-16. After Compulsory School is Upper Secondary school which is attended by people aging from 16-20. Upper Secondary schooling is not mandatory but is free. After Upper Secondary school those who chose to may get a Higher Education. This also is not mandatory and does not cost money to attend. Iceland is known for exceling in the subjects of glaciology and geology.
