When to travel
Winter: Traveling in winter would entail traveling during the off season. This would allow you cheaper tickets. During the winter there are less scenic things to see and more time spent in the city, however you are more likely to see the northern lights. The travel guide under the winter tab is for a Christmas trip which is desirable because Christmas in Iceland is very interesting. They have many fun traditions such as leaving a shoe on the windowsill to hold a treat from the trolls that descend from the mountains each night. This happens for thirteen nights before and after Christmas.
Essentials:

In summer the weather will permit you to see more of Iceland's nature but you are less likely to see the northern lights. If you travel during summer you are more likely to see art and culture shows.
